A new secondary fruit thinner with a unique mode of action is tipped to revolutionise the way apples are thinned. Especially formulated for apples and developed by Adama, Brevis is a post-bloom thinner which is applied after flowering to thin excess fruitlets.

Unlike hormone-based thinners, Brevis, a water-soluble granule containing the active ingredient metamitron, temporarily inhibits photosynthesis and the production of carbohydrates used for tree growth. The reduction in carbohydrate production leads to an earlier and increased natural fruit drop.
