Tornado Pumps and Sprayers have been manufacturing and importing specialised agricultural equipment since 1973. 2023 is the Sydney based company’s 50th year in providing unparalleled innovations and service to the agricultural sector in Australia.

Tornado Pumps and Sprayers director Paul Blasutto said “We are a small to medium sized family-owned company who with our dealers strive to provide the best machinery with the best features for the best possible price.

“As part of our commitment we have built a solid reputation of quality manufacturing, quality service, spare parts back up to our customers and dealer network throughout Australia.

“Tornado prides itself for being distinctively different from other manufacturers. The difference comes from listening to our client’s demands for tailer made machinery.

“Tornado’s core business is the manufacturing and supply of quality air assist low and high-volume sprayer units for the macadamia, avocado, pome, stone fruit, tropical fruits, wine and table grape industries. Many sprayer innovations developed by Tornado based on that feedback are now part of their options range.”

Mr Blasutto said Tornado’s developments are ongoing in the sprayer field. “New innovations are always on the drawing board. This proves that Tornado is committed to ongoing developments for the horticultural industries that are constantly looking for better ways to be more efficient.

“Our current development is the AirSerg II air conveyor system mounted onto our axial air blast sprayer units. In cooperation with our business partners in Italy, we have developed a super-efficient axial fan system that delivers very high air volume flow with the added features of discharge air straightening vanes and separation of air tip speed and air volume generation from the variable pitch high-efficiency 11 blade propeller.

“Mounted on this super-efficient fan is the AirSerg II conveyor unit with internal air separation vanes with some mechanical adjustment to provide strategically placed discharge air into the tree crop canopy.

“Hydraulically controlled upper air conveyors are also implemented to have operational adjustment of air discharge direction when spraying in the orchard. Many years of testing and improvements have gone into this system, and it is proving very successful in all tree crop industries.

“The system is also fitted with optional air-injected drift controlled ceramic nozzles for better application of spray laden droplets to the tree canopy area.

“In the last 20 years we have expanded our expertise into the olive and nut industries, not only with spray equipment. We supply a wide range of equipment from mulching, harvesting and olive processing – from growing to processing.

“Tornado is truly ‘leading the way’ with continual developments to enhance the farmers requirements.”
