Fertiliser alternative for growers

Oct. 26, 2026 | 5 Min read
As global agriculture faces an unprecedented combination of economic and environmental crises, a revolutionary Australian-made solution is answering some of the biggest talking points: soaring chemical costs driven by geopolitical conflict, the declining nutritional value of heavily fertilised food, and severe soil degradation.

Global agriculture faces economic and environmentalpressure. Australian-made Rural Boss is responding to risingchemical costs, declining food nutrition and soil degradation.

Developed by fifth-generation Queensland farmer Danny Hood and his Queensland-based company, Global Boss International (GBI), Rural Boss is an organic liquid fertiliser concentrate that helps growers reduce synthetic dependency, improve soil health, maximise yields and lift profitability.

Modern farming is at a tipping point:

The synthetic cost crisis: Conflict and shipping disruption have sent imported-input costs higher. In Australia, urea prices practically doubled within two months.

Declining nutritional value: Decades of chemical use to force plant growth have reduced food-crop nutritional density.

Severe soil degradation: Salt-heavy inputs can leave soil chemically saturated, depleted of organic matter and structurally weakened.

The product follows 16 years of development, including a10-year research and development program.

Its microbial balancing technology introduces beneficial fungi and nitrogen-fixing bacteria, including azotobacter, to stimulate activity in the root zone. It breaks down chemical residues and converts dry stubble into stable organic carbon, helping restore pH and improve moisture retention.

Proven benefits for farmers and consumers GBI trials have shown:

Boosted productivity: Some crop yields increased by up to 50 per cent.

Superior food quality: Improved nutrient uptake can createmore nutrient-rich food and pasture.

Enhanced profitability: Less reliance on synthetic importsand fewer crop screenings can improve returns.

Clean environmental footprint: Rural Boss helps reduce nutrient runoff and nitrate pollution and is certified for organic systems by Australian Certified Organic. GBI is delivering to farmers and seeking funds to expand Australian production.

Danny says the technology offers a sustainable alternative to the practices of the past 80 years. Farmers have an affordable way to protect land and improve their bottom line.
