TRANSTAK Engineering and Equipment has been manufacturing and supplying fruit growers with equipment for around 25 years.
The TRANSTAK bin trailer range has expanded greatly, driven by demand from different grower types, growing systems and scale of operations.
The company now has bin trailers which will transport two, three. six and12 bins – and one and two tractor bin forks.
TRANSTAK’s Peter Guy says recent developments include the TRANSTAK 1500 Low Profile (LP) front mounted bin trailer, which due to its small and narrow tandem wheels will operate within intensive 3.5m row apple plantings.
This trailer is fitted with the ‘soft-ride’ rubber and pneumatic suspension system with three-bin capacity, moving bins from within rows to load-out yards with capacity for as many as 150 bins a day.
Peter says Transtak Ltd is also sole importer of the BAB 12 bin transporter from Europe.
He says this self-loading fork trailer will carry a block of full or empty bins – four bins long and three high.
“It has hydraulic lift rams on each side tandem wheelset which can lift and level the load combined with the Drawbar mounted lift/tilt ram,” he adds.
“A swing-out hydraulic tailgate supports the fork ends and the trailer has soft-ride hydraulic accumulators fitted.
“Capacity is 400-500 bins a day for larger orchards, doing away with the need to repeatedly load and unload trucks.”
Right now the efficient TRANSTAK 3500N towed and TRANSTAK 3500NS, which has a front mount, and six-bin transporting and stacking trailers, is available on 4-6 week delivery.
These trailers will handle any fruit types moving six full bins in from the orchard and 12 empties out, and stacking and unstacking the load’s approximate 250 bins a day capacity.
