Among the various machines available, the GreenTech 6000L Spray System stood out for its innovative design, robust build quality, operational efficiency, and ability to deliver fungicides, pesticides, and foliar nutrition to tall and mid-sized macadamia trees.

Macadamia grower Michael McMahon and his family have been involved in horticulture for more than 20 years.

They currently grow 75,000 macadamia trees on their property in Farnsfield, 50km south of Bundaberg, Queensland.

Their property, Nutbush Farms, is one of the larger macadamia orchards in the region, contributing significantly to Bundaberg's reputation as an agricultural powerhouse responsible for 25 per cent of Australia’s fresh produce.

Due to the subtropical climate, the region can be subject to significant pest and disease pressure and this pressure means you need a top quality spray system to protect your investment.

“Investing in the right spraying technology is critical for growing high quality produce,” Michael said.

In early 2024, Nutbush Farms began evaluating spray technology options suitable for its macadamia orchard and found there are many.

Among the various machines available, the GreenTech 6000L Spray System stood out for its innovative design, robust build quality, operational efficiency, and ability to deliver fungicides, pesticides, and foliar nutrition to tall and mid-sized macadamia trees.

Michael who is Nutbush managing director, said its reliability, versatility and reduced diesel consumption were key factors in the decision to choose GreenTech.

“The GreenTech 6000L Spray System with heavy-duty galvanised chassis, tyres and a walking beam is perfectly suited to our application,” Michael said.

“The wide range of water rates per hectare makes the machine very versatile enabling us to do full coverage sprays or quick, low-water rate foliar nutrition sprays,” he said.

“GreenTech produces high-volume air at velocity which ensures we get good coverage throughout the canopy without wasting valuable inputs and time.

“Its in-cab adjustable arms allow precise fan positioning, ensuring optimal coverage across different tree architectures. Its flexibility in fan positioning and the ability to isolate fans individually make targeted applications easy.”

GreenTech produces high volume air at velocity to ensure good canopy coverage.

Michael added the system produces the ideal droplet size for efficient spray coverage, delivering significant cost savings.

The GreenTech brand offers uniquely designed spray systems known for its low-power consumption industrial electrical fan motors and has established itself as the ideal spray system for horticultural crops.

Beyond its flagship 6000L model, GreenTech offers a range of tank sizes, including 4000L and 5000L, ideal for large-scale operations such as Nutbush Farms.

“We chose to go for a 6000L tank so we could spend more time spraying and less time filling up,” Michael said.

“The large flotation tyres fitted on a walking beam means GreenTech travels through our orchards with ease and without damaging the orchard floor,” he said.

“With such a significant investment in macadamia production, we needed a solution that is efficient and protects our crop whilst meeting high standards for food safety and food production.”

Comprehensive testing with water and fluorescent dye validated the spray coverage’s outstanding performance across the tree canopy.

GreenTech’s technology is fast becoming a benchmark for large orchard spraying.

With cutting-edge electrical-driven fan technology, it provides safety, efficiency, and targeted application across a wide range of crops.

Benz Baek, engineer and owner of GreenTech International Pty Ltd said his company spent more than 20 years innovating chemical application technologies to meet farmers’ demands while reducing operational costs.”

He said now recognised globally, GreenTech sprayers operate in Australia, New Zealand, South America, New Caledonia, and the US.

“We are committed to building the GreenTech brand as the preferred choice in the market, helping farmers achieve exceptional results with cost-effective solutions,” Benz added.

From macadamia orchards to vineyards and vegetable crops, Greentech’s expertise spans diverse applications, ensuring optimal crop protection.

With its long-standing reputation as a trusted manufacturer, GreenTech continues to lead in sustainable and innovative agricultural solutions.
